Roo in hot water following bender

Wayne Rooney is set for the hair-dryer treatment from Sir Alex Ferguson after pictures emerged of him partying on the town at the weekend. On Monday The Sun newspaper ran a story and pictures of the England striker smoking, urinating in the street and singing at 5.30 in the morning. Fergie is known to demand that his players give the best image possible of the club at all times and is sure to come down hard on the 24-year-old. The fiery Scot is also expected to demand to see fitness reports on Rooney, who only reported back to training last week after resting following the World Cup. Rooney is in the process of agreeing a new £140,000-a-week, four-year deal with the club. He hit 34 goals for the Red Devils last season.
