Fergie ready to knock Blues off perch

(14-08-2010) Sir Alex Ferguson has lost none of his fire as he heads into his 25th year in charge of Manchester United, vowing to knock Chelsea off their perch this season. United missed out on bagging four successive titles last season after being piped to the title by the Blues by a single point. "You have to think that Chelsea, after winning it last season, are favourites,” said Fergie on Friday. "You normally think the team that won it last year have to be knocked off their perch and they're in that position at the moment.” He added: "They will look at, as I would do, how they can stay there. Hopefully us and any one of the other clubs could easily be challenging." United kick off their campaign against newly-promoted Newcastle on Monday.
