Super Mario finally puts ink to paper
(14-08-2010) Mario Balotelli is a Manchester City player, after the big-spending club snapped him up from Inter Milan for £24m on Friday. The 20-year-old signed a five-year deal and flew into Manchester for a medical. "I think that Mario is one of the best players of his age in Europe, and I very happy to be working with him again," said City boss Roberto Mancini, who managed Balotelli during his time at Inter. "His style of play will suit the Premier League, and because he is still so young there is a big chance for him to improve." Balotelli's arrival follows those of Jerome Boateng, David Silva, Yaya Toure and Aleksandar Kolarov and takes City’s summer spending to well over £100m. This figure should rise in the next few days as the club are also expected to announce the capturing of James Milner from Aston Villa.
