Star striker staying at Barca and other red-hot gossip

(20-08-2010) Barcelona have confirmed that Swedish striker Zlatan Ibrahimovic will be staying at the club, despite speculation linking him with a move to AC Milan or Manchester City. Ibrahimovic scored 21 goals for the Spanish giants in his debut season. However, the arrival of David Villa has placed his spot in Pep Guardiola’s line-up under threat with many suggesting he would move rather than fight for a place at the Nou Camp. Elsewhere, Everton look likely to hang on to star midfielder Steven Pienaar, with the South African international ready to sign a new improved deal; Chelsea are fighting Ajax for the signature of 17-year-old Anderlecht striker Romelu Lukaku; and Glasgow Rangers have secured the services of Slovakian World Cup star Vladimir Weiss on loan from Manchester City.
