Robinho’s nightmare set to end

(31-08-2010) AC Milan are set to make a sensational last-ditch swoop for Robinho. According to reports, the Serie A giants will rescue the Brazilian ace from his Manchester City nightmare by sewing up a loan deal before the close of the transfer window later today. This was confirmed by Rosseneri president and Italian Prime Minister Silvio Berlusconi on Monday. "If a certain player interests us and is functional to our needs then we will be ready for another hit. If it was up to me I would take Robinho," said Berlusconi. The 26-year-old Robinho became the British record signing when he joined City from Real Madrid for £32.5m two years ago. But he failed to live up to expectations and spent last season on loan at Santos in Brazil. At Milan he will fight with Alexandre Pato, Zlatan Ibrahimovic, Pipo Inzaghi and Ronaldinho for a starting place.
