Reds complete signing of Portugal enforcer

(29-08-2010) Liverpool have beefed up their midfield by signing Portugal World Cup star Raul Meireles. According to reports, the Reds paid Porto £12m for the heavily tattooed 27-year-old midfielder who made a name for himself in South Africa. He is seen as a direct replacement for Javier Mascherano, who joined Barcelona on Friday, and flop Alberto Aquilani, who has been loaned out to Juventus. Meireles has won four league titles with Porto and been capped 38 times by his country.
