City flop set for Serie A move
(25-08-2010) Fringe Manchester City striker Roque Santa Cruz is on the verge of joining Italian giants Lazio. The Paraguay international has failed to nail down a regular starting place at Eastlands since his £18m move from Blackburn. He currently finds himself behind Carlos Tevez, Emmanuel Adebayor and new signing Mario Balotelli in the striking stakes. City have already offloaded strikers Craig Bellamy this season and are on the verge of selling Brazilian marksmen Jo and Robinho as they try and trim their bloated squad. The 29-year-old Santa Cruz is set to join the Roman club on a season’s loan, with a view to a permanent deal. Santa Cruz, who played for Bayern Munich earlier in his career, hit a mere four goals for City, which translates into a shocking £4.5m-per-strike!
