Giggs praises Roo’s all-round contribution

(22-08-2010) Wayne Rooney always makes a considerable contribution to Manchester United’s cause even if he does not get on the score sheet, reckons Ryan Giggs. Rooney heads to Fulham on Sunday having gone 13 matches without a goal. But Giggs is not worried, claiming the feisty Englishman delivers in many other ways. "Over the years, I have seen it here quite a lot," reflected Giggs. "People have got all the headlines because they have scored a goal, then actually their performance has been rubbish." He added: "Wayne's performance against Newcastle was good. His movement was good and he was creating chances. If he carries on playing well and getting chances, it will come sooner rather than later because he is a brilliant player." Veteran Giggs is the only player to score in all 19 EPL campaigns since the top-flight was formed in 1992.
