Wenger backs Walcott's star to shine brightly

(22-08-2010) Arsene Wenger has backed Theo Walcott to shine this season following his heroics against Blackpool on Saturday. Walcott played a blinder in Arsenal’s 6-0 romp against newly promoted ‘Pool, grabbing a hat-trick. Wenger reckons the much maligned England winger is now ready to bounce back from the agony of being omitted from England’s World Cup Squad. "Theo is more electric than he has been. He mixed well the final ball and the finishing, which is a sign a player is more mature,” said Wenger on Saturday. "Let's not forget what he does is always at a very high pace, so it is not easy to make the right decision but, today, he did.” He added: "Theo is a guy who keeps his feet on the ground and takes life in a positive way - he sees always the glass is half full and not half empty.”
