Vida excited by Rio’s return

(28-08-2010) Nemanja Vidic can’t wait to play alongside Rio Ferdinand in the heart of Manchester United’s defence. Ferdinand has not featured this season after picking up a serious knee injury in May. But with his return just weeks away, Vidic is struggling to hide his excitement. "We didn't play that much together over the last year but we were alongside each other for four-and-a-half years," commented Vidic on Friday. "We know each other very well. He added: "We have to reach the right form and play every week to feel well from a personal perspective. But over the years we have shown we have a good relationship. I don't see any reason why it should be different in the future." Ferdinand could be in contention for clashes with Everton and Liverpool as well as the ‘Battle of Britain’ Champions League duel with Rangers in early September.
