Near-death experience changed me - Ade

(22-08-2010) Manchester City’ Emmanuel Adebayor reckons his brush with death at last season’s African Cup of Nations has made him difficult to manage. Adebayor was on the Togo team bus that was fired upon by Angolan terrorists days before the AFCON started. Since then he has failed to shine and has struggled to establish himself as a first choice striker at Eastlands. "I have the chance to be alive when I could have been dead after what happened at the Cup of Nations,” said the lanky striker on Saturday. “This can make me a bit awkward as I know what I want now and my priority is always going to be my family.” He added: "Even if I went to somewhere like Real Madrid I would be in the same situation as here with many talented players, having to fight for my place with players like Cristiano Ronaldo and Kaka."
