It’s not about the cash – Toure
(09-08-2010) - Yaya Toure has defended his meg-money move to Manchester City. The Cote d’Ivoire midfielder joined the Blues from Spanish giants Barcelona for £24m, signing a contract that sees him net a whopping £200,000-per-week. However, many critics have suggested the muscular midfielder has taken a step down by quitting the Nou Camp. "I don't think this is a step down," insisted the 27-year-old Toure on Sunday. "The Premier League is amazing. It is stronger than La Liga. And Manchester City are making great strides within it. In future they will be a big club.” He added: "We have a fantastic coach (Roberto Mancini) and we are signing good players. It will be great here this year. I have always wanted to play here. The biggest players play here. People like Steven Gerrard and my biggest friend Didier Drogba.”
