Reds snap up great Dane

(13-08-2010) New Liverpool boss Roy Hodgson made another addition to his squad with the signing of Christian Poulsen from Juventus on Thursday. The Danish international midfielder moves to Anfield for £4.5m and signed a three-year contract. "With this move here I have a lot to prove," said Poulsen, a veteran of two World Cups. "If you come to a club like Liverpool, you have to deliver. I will hopefully show I can be a good player for Liverpool." The 30-year-old knows Hodgson well having played under him early in his career at FC Copenhagen. "I had two good years with him so I hope to carry that on, and hopefully he'll be satisfied with my qualities," he added. Poulsen featured for Schalke in the Bundesliga and Sevilla in La Liga before joining Juve.
