Reds set to offer stalwart new deal
Jamie Carragher is set to see out his career at Liverpool after it was announced that he will be offered a new contract on Saturday. Until now the 32-year-old has been in limbo due to the uncertainty surrounding the club's future under American owners Tom Hicks and George Gillett. Carragher is currently in the final year of his present contract. "I'm sure a contract extension will be a priority," said Reds manager Roy Hodgson. "I can see players like Jamie Carragher and Steven Gerrard never leaving Liverpool Football Club. I can see them always being part of the club," added the 62-year-old.
