Great expectations for Gunners starlet
Arsene Wenger was full of praise for Arsenal starlet Jack Wilshere after the club won the Emirates Cup on Sunday, saying he expected the 18-year-old midfielder to feature for the senior England team in the near future. Wilshere was named man-of-the-match as Arsenal beat Celtic 3-2 to win the pre-season Emirates Cup for the third time in its four-year history. "At the end of the day, when you're a good football player, you have to deal with that,” said Wenger of Wilshere. "Theo Walcott was at the World Cup at 17 years of age; he had not played one game in the Premier League, and it didn't kill him.” Wilshere spent the second-half of last season on loan at Bolton. "I believe he is stronger than last year, physically, and the few months he played at Bolton has given him something,” added Wenger.
