Reds open to mega Torres offer

Despite Fernando Torres’ recent commitment to Liverpool, the club’s manager Roy Hodgson has admitted that the Reds would still find it difficult to turn down a mega-money offer for the striker. Both Manchester City and Chelsea are believed to be interested in the World Cup winner but know only a sum of £60m will prise Torres away from Anfield. "Who knows what next season will bring? We could have a fantastic season and the players will not want to go anywhere or we could have a worse one and there will be more speculation," said Hodgson on Wednesday. "It could be he does so fantastically well and an offer comes in like the offer came in for Kaka or Cristiano Ronaldo (£56m and £80m respectively - both from Real Madrid) which is impossible to turn down,” added the 62-year-old.
