Reds in for Villa flyer and other red-hot gossip

Liverpool are in the hunt for sensational Aston Villa winger Ashley Young. According to reports, new Reds boss Roy Hodgson is a big admirer of the 25-year-old and believes he will give the club the width that they so sorely missed last season. Young, who joined Villa from Watford for £10m in 2007, is expected to cost around £20m. Elsewhere, Manchester United have been told by Sevilla that Brazil striker Luis Fabiano will cost them a cool £30m; Chelsea are back in the hunt to sign £20m-rated Atletico Madrid and Argentina striker Sergio Aguero and also want Benfica's Brazilian midfielder Ramires; Tottenham will move for Ajax forward Luis Suarez if they fail to land his Uruguayan strike partner Diego Forlan of Atletico Madrid; and Manchester City will offer Stephen Ireland, Nedum Onuoha and Michael Johnson in exchange for Everton playmaker Mikel Arteta.
