City to sell three stars and other red-hot gossip

Manchester City are set to sell three star players in order to accommodate new signings. The players on their way out are Robinho, who will join AC Milan, Craig Bellamy (Spurs) and Micah Richards (Liverpool). City have already made three ‘big’ signings, capturing German star Jerome Boateng (£12m), Yaya Toure (£28m) and David Silva (£24m). Elsewhere, Chelsea have turned their nose up at Werder Bremen's Mesut Ozil, instead turning their attention to his German team-mate Sami Khedira; Birmingham are ready to launch an £8m bid to lure Liverpool's Dutch forward Ryan Babel; and Chelsea are ready to hijack Manchester United and Manchester City’s bid to sign Italian striker Mario Balotelli from Inter Milan by offering £28m - £2m more than City have offered for the 19-year-old.
