Reds offload Argentine defender

Liverpool are set to offload left-back Emiliano Insua to Serie A club Fiorentina. According to reports, the Argentine international has left the Reds’ Swiss training camp to meet with Fiorentina officials in order to discuss personal terms. "A deal has been struck with Fiorentina, we wish him well for the rest of his career and thank him for his time spent at Liverpool," new Liverpool boss Roy Hodgson said on Saturday. "I am expecting him to join Fiorentina next week." The 21-year-old Insua joined Liverpool from Boca Juniors in early 2007 and played 62 games for the Merseysiders. With the club having also sold left-back Fabio Aurelio in June, they must now be in the market for a replacement.
