Cole staying at the Bridge and other red-hot gossip
Chelsea manager Carlo Ancelotti is adamant star defender Ashley Cole will be staying at Stamford Bridge, despite interest from Real Madrid. Recent reports have claimed that the England international has grown increasingly disillusioned with life in London following the break-up of his marriage and is desperate to rejoin former Blues mentor Jose Mourinho at the Bernabeu. Elsewhere, Tottenham are set to hijack Manchester City's £24m-move for Aston Villa midfielder James Milner; Arsenal remain keen to sign Everton's defender Phil Jagielka despite having had a £10m bid turned down; Stoke are lining up a £4m-raid on Portsmouth for Ghanaian midfielder Kevin-Prince Boateng; and Real Madrid boss Jose Mourinho is preparing a final £30m attempt to sign Steven Gerrard from Liverpool.
