Wenger tries to end Cesc speculation
Arsene Wenger has tried to put an end to all the speculation surrounding Cesc Fabregas by insisting the star midfielder will not leave the club. The Gunners have fought all summer against Fabregas joining Barcelona and have even turned down a £29m offer from the Catalans for the World Cup winner."Cesc is a very important player for us, he is our captain and we've worked very hard for him to be our future," Wenger told the club's website on Wednesday. "That is why we are always adamant about not letting him go." Fabregas has five years to run on his Arsenal contract but is thought to be eager to rejoin the club he played for as a boy to play alongside international team-mates Xavi, Sergio Busquets and Andres Iniesta in midfield. He has made 267 appearances and scored 48 goals for Arsenal since joining the club as a 16-year-old.
