Spain must improve – Iniesta

Midfield ace Andres Iniesta believes Spain will have to step up a gear in Sunday’s final if they want to be crowned World Champions for the first time. Vincente del Bosque’s team have lived up to their billing as pre-tournament favourites by reaching the deciding match against Holland, but three successive 1-0 victories in the knock-out stages doesn’t suggest a team in top form. "We will play better because we will probably have to if we are going to win," said Barcelona star Iniesta on Saturday. "What we did in the semi-final certainly won't help us win the final. But I have confidence in my team-mates and I think this group is able to take the final step." He added: "This is a historic event, a unique opportunity for us all. It makes the hairs on the back of your neck stand up just thinking about it.”
