Spurs fearful of Samba Stars’ price tag
Tottenham boss Harry Redknapp fears the club will not be able to afford Brazilian star Luis Fabiano. Spurs are in the market for a striker who they hope will fire them to glory in next season’s Champions League. "Yes, I like him. He's a fabulous player and would be a brilliant addition to any team,” admitted Redknapp on Tuesday. "It was put to us that he might be available but we've not made contact with Sevilla. Fabiano is a special player and a class act but I don't know what he earns. He might be on mega money, so it might prove to be impossible for us." The 29-year-old Fabiano, who starred for Brazil at the World Cup, is valued at around £28m.
