Roo pined for son at WC

Wayne Rooney was missing his young son during his miserable World Cup in South Africa. According to reports, the Manchester United goal ace admitted as much in an emotionally charged phone call to Red Devils manager Sir Alex Ferguson. He is said to have really struggled to be away from six-month old Kai for such a long period. Rooney was tipped to light up the global showpiece but bombed miserably, failing to score a goal as England crashed out in the last 16 against Germany. Rooney, wife Coleen and baby Kai are currently away on a family holiday in Barbados where they own a home. Meanwhile, Ferguson has said he will resist playing Rooney at the start of the new EPL season as he believes he needs a long rest.
