Fab pleads with del Bosque
Cesc Fabregas has pleaded with Spain boss Vincente del Bosque for some game time in the World Cup final. The Arsenal midfield wizard has only played a bit role for the Spaniards in the tournament such is their talent in midfield. Writing in the The Sun newspaper on Saturday, Fabregas said: “I can't deny it has hurt not to be in Spain's starting line-ups throughout this tournament. But I only have to look at our incredible players - and especially our midfielders - to realise I'm honoured to be part of this magnificent Spanish side.” Spain have largely started with Xavi, Iniesta, Alonso and Busquets in midfield during the tournament, with the foursome dominating all opposition with their precision passing. "If I'm lucky enough to get a start, I will give everything I have. But if I have to start on the bench, then so be it,” he added.
