United star wants out

Nemanja Vidic is desperate to leave Manchester United for Real Madrid. According to reports, the Serbian international has grown disenchanted with life at Old Trafford because the club have failed to offer him a new contract to bring his earning closer to those of his central defensive partner Rio Ferdinand. Vidic is currently on £70,000 a week, while Ferdinand takes home £110,000 for seven days work. Now the tough-tackling defender wants to move to the Bernabeu with Jose Mourinho ready to make him the backbone of his new-look defence, with Ashley Cole of Chelsea another target. The 28-year-old Vidic joined United in 2006 for £7m from Spartak Moscow. He has played over 200 matches for the club.
