Spurs in for Spanish legend and other red-hot gossip

Spanish legend Raul is set for a shock move to Tottenham. The 33-year-old is available on a free transfer after being released by Real Madrid. He is the leading goal scorer in Champions League history and has also scored 44 goals in 102 games for Spain. Raul is said to favour a move to a London club if he moves to the EPL. Elsewhere, Liverpool are hoping to entice Manchester City left-back Wayne Bridge to Anfield; La Liga club Sevilla are considering a £9m bid for Everton midfielder Mikel Arteta; Sunderland have joined the race to sign England goalkeeper David James; Swedish striker Zlatan Ibrahimovic will reject Manchester City to stay at Spanish champions Barcelona; and Real Madrid boss Jose Mourinho is plotting a raid on former club Chelsea to sign defender Ricardo Carvalho, who he brought to Stamford Bridge from another of his former clubs Porto in 2004.
