Kuszczak ready to dethrone Ed
Tomasz Kuszczak is determined to dethrone Edwin van der Sar as Manchester United’s first choice goalkeeper this season. Van der Sar turns 40 later this year and has admitted he is considering hanging up his gloves at the end of the season. Polish stopper Kuszczak, however, is determined to rise to the fore sooner rather than later. "I hope it will be a big season for me. This will be my fifth with the club and I hope to play even more games,” said the 28-year-old Kuszczak on Friday. "My challenge is simple — after Edwin finishes I want to be No1 at Manchester United.” He added: "It's not easy to sit on the bench. I have many ambitions and I want to keep progressing as a player. Manchester United is a great club and I believe it's a club I can play at for many years."
