Red Roy stonewalled by Masch

Javier Mascherano is refusing to communicate with new Liverpool boss Roy Hodgson. According to a report in The Sun newspaper, the Argentine captain has continually given Hodgson the slip since the World Cup. Hodgson is desperate to persuade the club’s star players – Torres, Gerrard and Mascherano – to stay at Anfield. However rumours continue to circulate that Mascherano is off to Inter Milan. Said Hodgson on Friday: "I have tried to contact Javier, I have left him voice messages and sent him text messages but, so far, I have had no reply." He added that he hoped there was good reason behind his failure to get in touch. "To be fair to Javier, he's had a tough World Cup and I believe he's gone back home to Argentina. It's not always easy to get in touch."
