‘Spurs ready to challenge for top spot’

Harry Redknapp believes Tottenham won’t just challenge for a Champions League place this season – they will be leading contenders for the EPL title. The north Londoners showed much promise last season by finishing fourth to grab their first ever spot in the Champions League, with manager Redknapp now setting his sights much higher. "We could contend for the title. We've got the players. We've got to aim for it. We could win it, it's not impossible,” said Redknapp ahead of Spurs friendly against the New York Red Bulls in NYC. "Some people might look at what we achieved last season and say it was a flash in the pan. We have to prove them wrong and really go for it.” He added: “Somebody has got to do it at some time. It can't all just be Manchester United, Arsenal, Chelsea and Liverpool - why not Tottenham?"
