Blues in for Portugal ace and other red-hot gossip
Cash-flush Chelsea are hot on the heels of exciting Portugal right-back Fabio Coentrao. The 22-year-old Benfica ace excelled at the World Cup and is seen as a replacement for Ashley Cole who is set to join Real Madrid. Elsewhere, Manchester City will offer Wolfsburg cash plus Roque Santa Cruz for striker Edin Dzeko in a deal valued at £34m; Nice forward Loic Remy remains a West Ham target despite being told they will have to pay £12m for the 23-year-old; Aston Villa and England striker Emile Heskey is being lined up for a move to Celtic with winger Aiden McGeady possibly going the other way; and Tottenham believe they can capture the signature of £20m-rated striker Luis Fabiano from Sevilla now that Manchester United have pulled out of the race to sign the Brazilian international.
