SA icon to hand over World Cup?

World Human Rights icon Nelson Mandela may attend Sunday’s World Cup final between Holland and Spain. The extremely frail statesman missed the opening ceremony of the tournament after the death of his 13-year-old great-granddaughter in a car accident just before the tournament started. Mandela is expected to hand over the trophy if he does attend. Now 92-years-old, Mandela spent 27 years in prison during the fight against South Africa’s racist Apartheid system. He later became the first president of the democratic government of the country and is revered not only in his home country but across the world for his warmth and dignity.
