Chelsea in for Dutch WC star and other red-hot gossip

Ajax Amsterdam have slapped a £20m price tag on Dutch World Cup star Gregory van der Wiel who is being tracked by Cheslea. The 22-year-old full-back has attracted much interest since helping Holland reach the final of the recent World Cup with a move to Bundesliga champions Bayern Munich having already broken down. Elsewhere, Young Liverpool striker David Ngog is set to stay at Anfield despite rumours that he could leave the club; Aston Villa defender Luke Young's proposed move to Liverpool is off because he would have had to take a £10,000-a-week pay cut; new Fulham manager Mark Hughes is set to return to former club Manchester City to buy Stephen Ireland, Craig Bellamy and Roque Santa Cruz; and Robinho is heading back to Manchester City after talks between the Eastlands outfit and Brazilian club Santos about extending his loan deal broke down.
