Reds make first ‘big’ signing
Roy Hodgson has made his first significant signing as Liverpool manager after snapping up free agent Joe Cole on Monday. The England international midfielder put pen to paper on a four-year deal reportedly worth £90,000-per-week. He is set to undergo a medical in the next 48 hours. The 28-year-old Cole has been linked with a number of EPL sides - including Manchester United, Arsenal and Tottenham - since leaving Chelsea at the end of last season. He will be seen as a direct replacement for Yossi Benayoun, who coincidentally moved to Chelsea for £5.5million earlier this month.
