City set to struggle – Hamann

Manchester City’s attempt to buy league glory is doomed, reckons former Eastlands player Dietmar Hamann. According to the former German international, the club’s Arabic owners know the cost of everything and the value of nothing which will see them finish outside the top six this season. "They change 10 to 15 players every year and if they keep doing that they are going nowhere,” said Hamann on Thursday."City have got bundles to spend on new players but you have to buy wisely and I'm not sure they've done that.” He added: "They missed a massive trick when they let a player of Richard Dunne's stature leave last year. He's still better than all the centre-halves they've got yet they paid five or 10 times more money for the others." City have spent £80m on transfers in the last three months. Hamann is now player-coach at League One side MK Dons.
