Torres’ latest knack scares off Blues

Chelsea are set to pull out of a £50m deal to bring Fernando Torress to Stamford Bridge after the Spaniard pulled up lame in the closing stages of the World Cup final on Sunday. Given just 15 minutes of action, substitute Torres capped a miserable World Cup by pulling a hamstring with just three minutes of extra-time to play. Chelsea are now said to be growing iffy about signing a player who can’t seem to play two consecutive matches without getting injured. This could open the way for Manchester City to steal a march on the player who Liverpool need to sell in order to settle their large debts. Cheslea in turn are to turn their attention to Wolfsburg’s ace hit man Edin Dzeko.
