Rafa set to hijack Reds deal and other red-hot gossip

Former boss Rafa Benitez wants to hijack Liverpool’s move for winger Milan Jovanovic. The Serbian agreed in January to move to Anfield on a free transfer once his contract with Belgian team Standard Liege expired at the end of the season. But now Benitez, who is in charge of Inter Milan, is prepared to risk the wrath of his former employers, by offering the player the chance to play for the reigning Serie A and European Champions. Elsewhere, Manchester City have been linked to Los Angeles Galaxy forward Landon Donovan, who had a successful spell on loan at Everton last season and was impressive for USA at the World Cup; Aston Villa are keeping an eye on Arsenal striker Eduardo, who is keen to move from the Emirates; and Bolton want Argentine legend Juan Roman Riquelme following the midfielder's release by Boca Juniors.
