CR10 defends behaviour

Cristiano Ronaldo has defended himself against allegations that he handled himself shamefully following Portugal’s exit from the World Cup on Wednesday. Portugal were knocked out of the global showpiece in the last 16 after losing 1-0 to Spain in Cape Town. Now allegations have emerged that the world’s most expensive player spat towards a TV camera after the defeat. He is also alleged to have responded to a question about the loss with: "Ask Queiroz." On Thursday the Real Madrid star backtracked: "When I said to ask the coach it was simply because Carlos Queiroz was at a Press conference and journalists could hear his explanations and I did not feel in the right condition to explain what happened. I never thought these simple and innocent words could cause so much controversy."
