‘Chicarito’ desperate to star for United

New Manchester United signing Javier Hernandez has pleaded with Sir Alex Ferguson to allow him to fight for a starting place at Old Trafford. This comes after news emerged that the Red Devils are ready to loan the young Mexican to Valencia in order to gain experience. "What I want is to play," said the player nicknamed ‘Chicarito’ on Sunday. "I'm going to report to Manchester United in July and I look forward to a new stage in my career. Some people are aware of the possibility of a loan and I will learn more in the coming hours and make a decision. But my priority is to earn a place with Manchester United." Competition for a striking berth at Old Trafford will be intense in the coming months with Rooney, Berbatov, Owen, Macheda, Biram Diouf and Welbeck all on the club’s books.
