Weight of expectation bogs down Gunners

(08-11-2010) Arsenal are struggling to cope with the expectations of their fans when playing at home, claims manager Arsene Wenger. The Gunners slumped to a surprising 1-0 defeat to Newcastle at the Emirates over the weekend. "We never reached our top level and we were never in full flow,” said Wenger afterwards. "Newcastle are a team of very strong men and we weren't sharp enough to get through their lines and get them out of position quickly enough.” He added: "Our home form is a concern for me because we struggled to win our last games here against Birmingham and West Ham and now we have lost to Newcastle.The problem is that everyone comes here and plays very tight and, when we are not in the best form, we have problems breaking them down.”
