Reds to demand compensation for Gerrard injury

(19-11-2010) Liverpool are set to demand half-a-million pounds from the FA after their star captain Steven Gerrard was injured in Wednesday’s friendly between England and France. Gerrard suffered a torn hamstring in the 2-1 loss to les Bleus and is set for a month on the sidelines. The 29-year-old earns £120,000-a-week at Liverpool and the club are rumoured to be highly upset that England boss Fabio Capello went back on a promise to only play Gerrard for 60 mins. The midfielder was eventually substituted five minutes from time. He is set to miss the following games: Nov 20: West Ham (h). Nov 28: Spurs (a). Dec 2: Steaua Bucharest (a). Dec 4: Aston Villa (h). Dec 11: Newcastle (a). Dec 15: FC Utrecht (h).
