Consistency needed for title push – Kompany

(23-11-2010) Manchester City need to show better consistency if they are to have a firm shot at the league title, reckons defender Vincent Kompany. Speaking after their impressive 4-1 win over Fulham at the weekend, the Belgian international defender urged his team-mates to repeat those high standards every week from now until May. "We have had a couple of good performances but this was one of a very high standard,” commented Kompany. "When we came in at half-time we said to each other, this is the standard we have to expect from ourselves now for the whole season.” He added: "The ambition of any team in the top six should be to compete with Chelsea and Manchester United. There is no reason to suggest why it would not be possible. But there is still a lot of work to be done.” City’s next two games are against Stoke and Bolton.
