City to take massive knock on five stars

(19-11-2010) Manchester City are set to take a massive £50m hit by getting rid of a string of flop players. According to reports, the Blues will listen to offers in the January transfer window for Emmanuel Adebayor, Wayne Bridge, Shaun Wright-Phillips, Roque Santa Cruz and Jo. All were signed by Mark Hughes, City boss Roberto Mancini's predecessor, for a total cost of £87.5million. They will take the biggest hits on strikers Adebayor and Santa Cruz who cost £25m and £18m respectively. Apparently Adebayor will be allowed to leave for £12m and Santa Cruz for £4m. Left-back Bridge (cost £12m) will be offered for £5m; Wright-Phillips (cost £8.5m) will go for £5m; and Brazilian flop Jo, a £17m signing, will be allowed to leave for £6m.
