Roo’s recovery progressing well

(13-11-2010) Manchester United are pleased with the way Wayne Rooney’s recovery is going. The England striker has made just one substitutes' appearance since the end of September after failing to shake of a niggling ankle injury picked up in April this year. The 25-year-old Rooney has spent the last week at Nike's plush HQ in Beaverton in the USA working on his conditioning. "Wayne has been doing really well," United assistant boss Mike Phelan told a local radio station. "He has been training really hard, working morning and afternoon. Our people out there who are looking after him have been really pleased with his attitude and approach.” Added Phelan: "All being well he can have a nice easy flight back. We will see where he is at on Monday but we think he will have improved immensely."
