Diaby’s injury woes worry Wenger

(06-11-2010) Arsene Wenger is worried about the long-term fitness of midfielder Abou Diaby. The French international is battling an ankle injury sustained following a crunching challenge by Bolton defender Paul Robinson last month, with Gunners manager Wenger admitting he does not know when the 24-year-old will play again. "You look at Diaby since he got this tackle (from Robinson), he has never come back to a normal level," commented Wenger on Friday. "He was never himself and today we have worries for him. We don't know how long he will be out. He has seen two surgeons already and at the moment we have to be patient to see if he can get away with it." Diaby suffered a broken leg and a dislocated ankle against Sunderland in May 2006, but later returned to become a key member of Wenger's side.
