No rift with GJ – Red Roy

(21-11-2010) Roy Hodgson has denied that a rift has developed between himself and defender Glen Johnson. The right-back, who has missed the Reds last three matches with a groin problem, was criticised by Hodgson a couple of weeks back for failing to display the form which had made him an England international. But on Saturday he weighed in with a goal in Liverpool’s 3-0 win over West Ham. “I think Glen profited from the fact he has been obliged to undergo an enforced rest with the injury but has been fit and trained hard all week," said Hodgson afterwards. Quizzed whether he thought his criticism of Johnson had sparked a response, Hodgson joked: "If that is the case I'd better get you (the media) to stir up a bit more mischief. I'll start it with all the players if it can get the best out of them.”
