Good news for Tottenham
(26-11-2010) Tottenham have received the go ahead for their plans to redevelop White Hart Lane after being told they can proceed by London Mayor Boris Johnson. The Mayor had the power to overturn last month's decision by a local council to grant planning permission for the 56,000-seater stadium. But Johnson backed the council which means the redevelopment of White Hart Lane will go ahead unless the government decides to intervene. Tottenham must now decide whether to proceed with the massive £450m project or whether to become the anchor tenant at London’s new 2012 Olympic Stadium. Rival London club West Ham are also interested in becoming tenants at the venue in Stratford after the Olympic Games end at the end of summer 2012.
