Roo finally issues an apology
(26-11-2010) Wayne Rooney on Thursday made an unreserved apology to the Manchester United faithful for threatening to quit the club. The England ace had been asked by Red Devils boss Sir Alex Ferguson to say sorry over a month ago. And despite two TV interviews he had not done so...until now. "I feel like I have apologised to the fans but everyone keeps saying I haven't,” said Rooney. "If that is the case, then I apologise for my side of things." Rooney recently signed a mega-money five-year-deal with United that saw him become the EPL’s highest paid player on a reported £250,000 per week. Two days prior to signing the contract he had threatened to walk out on United because of their “lack of ambition” – something that didn’t go down well with the club’s fans and his teammates.
