Ancelotti fumes after shock defeat

(15-11-2010) Carlo Ancelotti has blasted his players following their embarrassing 3-0 home loss to Sunderland on Sunday. The result was the Blues heaviest defeat at Stamford Bridge since April 2002 and came just three days after the club’s shock dismissal of Ancelotti’s assistant Ray Wilkins. "That was the worst performance in my time at this club," fumed Ancelotti afterwards. "Everything was wrong today and nobody played well. I have never had a result like this before with Chelsea.” He added: "Sunderland played a fantastic game with more fighting spirit, mentality and attitude. If you don't show those kind of qualities, it is not a surprise to lose a game like this.” He however refused to blame the loss on Wilkins sacking. "We lost because Sunderland played better than us, not because of anything else. Absolutely not."
