Ancelotti laughs of resignation rumours
(23-11-2010) Carlo Ancelotti has dismissed rumours that he is on the verge of resigning as Chelsea manager as “totally untrue.” This came after reports emerged that he had approached the League Managers Association on Sunday night and consulted them about his position within the Stamford Bridge hierarchy. He was said to be unhappy with interference in team affairs and the sacking of his assistant Ray Wilkins. "These rumours are totally untrue. I don't know why they came out. I didn't speak with the LMA,” insisted Ancelotti on Monday. "There is no reason to think about this, my position. I am the coach and I have to train my players to maintain the team, the club, at the best level.” Chelsea have lost three of their last four matches, including successive defeat for the first time in over four years. They still, however, top the league but only on goal difference.
